The Brecon Mountain Railway

This is a must do for anyone, not just train enthusiasts. People of any age will love travelling by the steam train – the line runs from Pant to Pontsticill with beautiful views of the Taf Fechan Reservoir along the way. A cafe is situated at Pontsicill where you can enjoy refreshments whilst admiring the scenery. There is also a workshop at Pant where the locomotives are repaired.

Dan-yr-Ogof and the National Show Caves Centre

One of the most fascinating attractions in Wales (Dr Who has even been filmed here!), this centre allows you to see some of the sections of a cave system which extends for over ten miles underground. The Cathedral Cave is a highlight of the visit.

Llangorse Lake

This is the largest natural lake in South Wales and is a wonderful location for sailing, wildlife-watching and lakeside walks.
